MUSEUM'S 2009 SEASON
THE MUSEUM
The Museum is located on the ground floor of the town's 18th century Guildhall, which was completed in 1743 and is situated on the town square.
Discover the true spirit of the characters from South Molton's past, through the exhibits and interactive displays.
The Museum is managed by the South Molton Town Council and volunteers and engages with the local community to show the social history of their town and its evolvement through the centuries.
The collections reflect the life and times of the town and the surrounding countryside. Local trades, agricuculture and domestic history are also strongly featured.
Regular history and folklore related story telling sessions and hands-on collections are favourites with children of all ages. If you have a friend who has particular access needs, please call the Museum to make the most of the their visit.

Free informative brochure is available, to help guide visitors through the Museum's collections. Museum staff are always available to help you during your visit.
The museum is now closed for the winter and reopens on Monday 15th March, 2010. If you have an enquiry please ring or email as staff will be working at the museum on Mondays and Tuesdays over the winter period. School and group visits during this period can be arranged by appointment.
